ExchangeInfo Plus™
The Big Picture on
telecom landscape applications
 |
Understand and visualize the service
areas of local exchange carriers |
 |
Plan interconnection routes and identify
required collocations for optimum efficiency
|
 |
Perform competitive analysis and market
research to help grow profits |
Our
ExchangeInfo™ Plus database contains key
telecommunications infrastructure data, based on a
comprehensive database of every wire center and central
office in the United States and Canada. Wire centers
serve as the basic unit of geography for the
communications industry. Each wire center serves a
unique set of telephone numbers within a fixed
geographic area. Complex, robust analyses of the local
telephone exchange system are possible with ExchangeInfo
Plus.
Our rigorous methodology, extensive research, ongoing
customer feedback mechanism and monthly update process
ensure that the communications infrastructure databases
are both exceptionally accurate and current.
Specific industry data includes:
 |
Wire center code |
 |
Rate center name |
 |
Exchange name |
 |
Area codes (NPA) |
 |
Prefixes (NXX) |
 |
Carrier type |

Accuracy
Wire Center boundaries are generated
using over 50 million addresses and telephone tariff
data.
Easy to Use
Every NPA/NXX (LEC, CLEC and
Wireless) is contained in single data table,
simplifying the search for a particular NPA/NXX and
Wire Center code.
Flat Wire Center geography with no
overlaps or gaps, reduces risk of double counting a
particular area.
Database Contents
The ExchangeInfo Plus database is
divided into 5 file sets:
 |
Wire Center Boundaries: Wire
Center code, Region |

Case Scenarios
CABLE providers
use the ExchangeInfo™ Plus database to determine which
central offices they need to collocate in order
to serve their market. In addition, cable providers can
identify and visualize the serving LEC and wire center
code that serves each customer location.
Wireless
carriers use the ExchangeInfo™ Plus database
to understand the serving LEC and wire center code of
each cell tower. This information is used to determine
backhaul provisioning of cell towers and MTSOs. The
ExchangeInfo™ Plus database also includes the location
of all wireless central office locations to help
wireless carriers understand the competitive environment
within each market.
Wireline
carriers building out their networks may wish
to run fiber from their CO to the regional LEC central
offices. By using the ExchangeInfo™ Plus database,
carriers can determine which wire centers they need to
collocate within in order to provide last-mile
connectivity based upon an analysis of existing or
potential customer locations. |
